Learning the Tool
The camera, as a tool, is the bridge between the mind and the world.
To strengthen the connection, you will learn the basics of how your camera works and
how to adjust your settings. This can help you begin to interpret your vision
with a beginning foundation in proper techniques.
Masters of the Craft
This will be an immersion in the works by great photographers.
We will discuss the possible as well as the documented thinking and
feeling process before the photographs were taken.
Outdoor Practice
We go to the field capturing images based on a list of subject matters
to sharpen your eye and your skills. This will depend on the photography
genre you have chosen.
(Tea, Fruit and Traybakes will be served
Critique and Review
To complete the training, we will look at the images together
for gentle critique and recommendations.
Tools and Materials
Your preferred Manual camera. If you wish to use film,
we can discuss how to scan after class
Notepad or notebook
Pen/pencil
Who is allowed to join?
Photographers of all levels of knowledge are welcome to join the course. Whether you are a complete beginner with no idea how to use your camera or someone with more experience looking to enhance your skills, all are encouraged to participate. Our courses provide a thorough primer on basic technical knowledge for those starting out before diving into the practical aspect of photography during our photowalk sessions. Throughout the course, I will be readily available to provide guidance and support to every student or group, ensuring that everyone can explore and improve their photography skills on location.
